Terms of Use.
Terms of Use v1 — under legal review as of April 2026. The final, binding version will be posted after a California-licensed attorney completes review. Questions: support@joinclear.ing.
Acceptance of use.
By visiting joinclear.ing, subscribing to the Sunday Clearing, using Grace or any other tool we publish, or paying for a membership tier, you're agreeing to these terms. If something here doesn't sit right with you, please don't use the site — and do tell us why.
Rules of engagement.
The Clearing is a quiet, adult space. Inside the Circle and in any community feature we open, we ask:
- Speak to others the way you'd speak to a neighbour you liked.
- Keep private what other members share in private. Assume you're being trusted, because you are.
- No marketing, soliciting, recruiting, or pitching other members.
- No harassment, bigotry, or personal attacks. Ever.
- Don't impersonate another person, or Dan, or the Clearing itself.
We reserve the right to remove any content or any member that doesn't meet these standards. We'll do it quietly and fairly, and we'll tell you why.
Intellectual property.
The writing, design, and working tools on joinclear.ing are the property of The Clearing and Dan League. You're welcome to quote short excerpts with attribution and a link. Republishing full letters or essays without permission is not allowed. If you'd like to syndicate or excerpt something, write to dan@joinclear.ing and we'll almost always say yes.
No warranty.
The Clearing, including its letters, guides, community, and tools like Grace, is provided as is. We take care with what we publish, but we make no warranties — express or implied — about its completeness, accuracy, fitness for any particular purpose, or the outcomes you will experience from using it. Please see the Disclaimer for the important details about medical, financial, and legal matters.
Limitation of liability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Clearing and Dan League are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or any decisions you make on the basis of what you read here.
Termination.
You can leave any time — unsubscribe from any email, cancel a paid tier from your ThriveCart account, or write to support and we'll handle it. We can also end a membership or ban an account if someone acts in bad faith toward us or other members.
Governing law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Venue for any dispute is the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
