Privacy Policy.
Privacy Policy v1 — under legal review as of April 2026. The final, binding version will be posted after a California-licensed attorney completes review. Questions in the meantime: support@joinclear.ing.
Plain-language summary.
The Clearing is a small, reader-funded publication. Our approach to your information is the same as our approach to everything else: less is more.
What we collect.
- Your email address if you subscribe to the Sunday Clearing or fill in any form on the site.
- Your first name if you choose to provide it when subscribing.
- Anything you write to us when you reply to a letter or send a message to support@joinclear.ing or dan@joinclear.ing.
- Basic, non-identifying analytics — page views and referrers — to understand what's being read. No third-party ad trackers. No cross-site pixels.
What we don't do.
- We don't sell your data. Not now, not later, not as a feature, not as a footnote.
- We don't rent it, share it with advertisers, or brokers, or data aggregators.
- We don't run retargeting pixels or behavioural ad tracking.
- We don't require an account or a password to read this site.
Service providers we use.
- Beehiiv — email delivery for the Sunday Clearing. Your email is stored there so we can send you the letter.
- Cloudflare — hosting and DNS.
- ThriveCart — payment processing for membership tiers, when active.
- MindStudio — the runtime behind Grace, the Medicare companion.
These providers are contractually bound to handle information only on our behalf. Each has its own privacy policy, which we review.
Your rights.
You can unsubscribe from any email with a single click. You can ask us to delete anything we hold about you by writing to support@joinclear.ing. If you're in California, the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights, the finalised policy will name them. In the meantime, assume they apply and ask.
Changes to this policy.
The finalised version, once reviewed by counsel, will replace this page. Material changes will be noted in a Sunday Clearing before they take effect.
